This is the second year I've bought the updated maps. Not having the correct streets/tollways/intersections on GPS will send you out of your way or the wrong way. There are still areas that haven't been updated from at least 2 years ago. I live and work in Houston and the surrounding area and would think major metropolitan areas would be updated every year. My husband called GARMIN to ask when our specific area will be updated, but they refuse to answer the question. Too much money to take a gamble on which areas are updated each year.
Bought this to upgrade the original and outdated maps. Pretty easy install, and has a great of newer road updates. Too bad its only licensed for 1 GPS. But still a good upgrade.
I got this for my parents. They needed for thier GPS and it has yet to let them down.
First of all, customer support is not available after 5PM M-F. Due to the unsatisfactory instructions and customer support I returned my update to Amazon for a full refund. And, when you try calling Garmin customer support that is just about as bad. The Garmin map update products are terrible. I may never purchase another Garmin product. I was unsuccessful in installing my update and in fact after attempting to install the 2009 update my GPS was rendered unusable.
Email responses are inadequate and untimely.
No weekend support is available at all.
The only way I could get my GPS working with its old map set was to go to the internet and google for similar problems, which I discovered is quite widespread.
The instructions for installing map updates are absolutely unacceptable and woefully lacking.
I honestly don't know how Garmin stays in business with their customer and product support ethic.
I guess they are not a big enough company to have 24/7 customer support.
Be prepared for long waits on hold.
After considerable effort I was able to get my GPS working.
Perhaps if the instructions were more complete there wouldn't be so many problems.
I was unable to use the product, as it was registered to another GPS. I notified the seller immediately and was told to return it. I returned it almost a month ago and still do not have my refund.
